Token Honey Pot Scam on Ethereum Network — When hacker scam hacker

Some days ago while surfing on channels, I saw a random guy posting his private key of Ethereum (yes, it truely the private key of an ethereum wallet!) I pm to warn him but no response, so I decided to open his wallet to see if there are anything I can help and then thing turns out it is the best and most creative scam I have every see!

First of all, this is the public address of the wallet with private key published: https://etherscan.io/address/0x7f893d78d2e7d4667c3c068b4129525a29047f8e

You can see that the wallet has some abnormal events: Some addresses send ETHER to the wallet and the wallet send those ETHER our to a specific address (that’s the address of the real scammer)

Basically the scam story is like this:

  • You get a private key somewhere on the channels.
  • You open it with an Ethereum wallet and see the account is holding some valued token
  • But the wallet has no ETHER which means no gas to transfer the token
